Meridian Street Historic District
The North Meridian Street Historic District is one of Indianapolis' residential treasures, with the Meridian Street Preservation Act, passed by the Indiana state legislature in 1971, requiring that any owner of property in the Preservation Areas must secure the approval of the Meridian Street Preservation Commission for any proposed change in land use or development standards.
The district developed in the early 20th century and includes representative examples of Tudor Revival, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival style architecture.
