Oliver Johnson’s Woods Historic District

Oliver Johnson's Woods takes its name from the farmstead of Oliver Johnson, whose 1860s-era family farm house was moved to its current location at 4456 North Park in 1919. The Johnson-Denny House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and Indiana Landmarks ranked 21 of the district’s 90 homes as “outstanding” or “notable” examples of historically significant architecture.

The neighborhood is primarily residential, with wide boulevards, large trees and homes built in the 1920s through 1930s, and is part of the larger Meridian-Kessler neighborhood.

Boundaries: 46th Street (north); 44th Street (south); College Avenue (west); Central Avenue (east)
